UP police team has reached Kolkata in Umesh Pal murder case. UP STF team has reached Kolkata in search of remaining accused. Till now two accused have been encountered in this case and the police is on the lookout for the rest of the accused.

The Uttar Pradesh police said that Umesh Pal witnessed the killing of BSP MLA Raju Pal in 2005, which led to his murder. Police said Umesh Pal's murder was carried out with surgical precision and sophisticated weapons were used in the killings, including 9mm pistols, Springfield rifles and crude bombs.  

Additional director general of police, law and order Prashant Kumar said Umesh Pal was a witness in the 2005 murder case of BSP MLA Raju Pal, which led to his killing. "We are also investigating whether there could be other reasons," said the police officer. The officer added that sophisticated weapons such as a 9mm pistol and a Springfield rifle were used.

A source privy to the probe added that Umesh was killed with surgical precision. "All the attackers planned and trained before carrying out the final mission," the ADG said. "Usman is first seen opening fire and also holding a crude bomb. He is further provided with cover fire while another suspect identified as Guddu Muslim throws the bomb and the whole act takes place in less than a minute," Kumar said. .

The officer also added that after carrying out the sensational murder, the assailants reached the Sulemsarai area of ​​Prayagraj rural and then dispersed. An officer at the police headquarters, who is monitoring the investigation, added that they had received a tip-off that the attackers had fled to Kolkata and were being sheltered by the local mafia at the port.

"We have sent a team to West Bengal and sought the help of a retired officer who had arrested many UP gangs who had taken refuge in Kolkata. The STF unit of the Bengal police is also helping us in the operation," he said. The officer added that a total of 17 teams have been formed to nab the suspects.
